Here’s day three of our introduction to this years leaders…so here’s James Shrimpton!

What are up to now?:

Studying for a BSc Biochemistry at Dundee University (Going into third year after camp).

Favourite TV show/film:

Has to be The Mask of Zorro, as for TV I couldn’t pick – Doctor Who or Blackadder.

Favourite book:

Definitely The Hobbit.  Quite honestly the best fiction book ever written

Best place you’ve ever travelled:

Camp! Obviously!

Favourite activity at camp:

Gorge-scrambling (or gully-bashing, or ghyll-scrambling) Whatever you call it, running up a river is great fun!

Favourite food at camp:

Oh how can you pick, everything the cooks produce is wonderful!

Best memory of camp:

I reckon my best memory is the time we had the pirate theme and had to steal treasure from the other tents.  I was particularly good at it and the look on the other tents faces when we had over 150 at the end of the week and most of them had none.  It was the last year I was a camper as well so it was great to win the tent competition for the first (and last!) time.

Earliest camp memory:

Being dragged around on the first day by an over friendly group of older campers who introduced me to every single person there (all of whose names I just forgot within moments).  The moment however has never really faded.

If you were a super hero, what would your power be?

My favourite super-hero was always Gambit (X-Men) so it’d have to be his his ability to ‘charge’ normal objects with kinetic energy.  Exploding playing cards are pretty cool…

Number of years at camp:

My first camp was in 2005 so this will be my 8th year! 5 as a camper and then 3 as a leader.

When did you become a Christian:

For me it was a very gradual process so it’s hard to say.  As a leader on another camp once put it ‘I oozed into the kingdom of heaven’.  It was at some point between my first camp in 2005 (which really got me started on the road) and my baptism a couple of years ago.
