Out on the fells

Activities run by qualified instructors.

Being set in the heart of the Lake District, Compass Camps is in the perfect place for some amazing outdoor adventure activities.  All campers will take part in three different activities, run by the amazing team at Climb365.  Below is just a small snapshot of what we’ve done on camp before.

Gorge Scrambling

Up the river, through the pools, back down again. Wet through, every time.

Climbing & abseiling

Real rock faces on the surrounding crags, roped and instructor-led.

Mountain days

A proper walk with a proper view at the top.

From a camper

“I have enjoyed 7 years of fun-packed weeks, bursting with friends, activities and most importantly, God. I have made amazing friends, many of which I have regular contact with throughout the year. The leaders are also fantastic and are willing to make this week the best of our lives, be it guiding us spiritually in bible studies or having a water fight across the breakfast table! But it’s not all kayaking and gorge scrambling. Every morning we have meetings specific to our age and in the evening bible studies allowing us to explore our faith and grow closer to God, or even discover him for the first time – changing our lives forever. There is something for everybody at camp, and every single second is full of laughter, liveliness or learning!”
Eunice, 17, from Accrington

“Well, basically, the 6 years that I have spent at camp have resulted in many unforgettable memories and strong friendships. Camp is one of my favourite places to be and it’s so totally awesome and crazy yet encouraging and challenging. What can I say…I love camp!! :D”
Louisa, 17, from Sheffield.

“Camp is… Awesome. There’s not really any other way to describe it – I’ve been 6 times now (5 as a camper and 1 as a leader) and I can honestly say that those have been the 6 best weeks of my life. I’ve never had a bad day at Camp, never come away from the week without having been challenged and grown in my faith, never come away without making new friends and definitely never regretted coming. From ghyll -scrambling to kayaking to just chilling on the campsite, camp has always been a wonderful experience for me and I would recommend it to anyone.”
James, 18, from Dundee

“I’ve been to camp 3 times and to be honest it has actually been amazing because you get to meet new people, have LOTS and LOTS of fun and get to hear the word of Jesus. I like doing all the different activities because you really don’t know what to expect, the leaders are great because they just want to have fun as well and that’s something that a lot of adults wouldn’t do.”
Damien, 15, from Bristol

Captain’s Log: Tuesday – Landlubbers Walk

We're halfway through our buccaneering voyage, and this morning Brian spoke about Jesus as our Good Shepherd. He is the one who lays down his life for his sheep, and we are his flock – prone to wander, but always brought back to safety. Afterwards we went for a walk,...
