At 7:30am this morning, Brian Eccles blew the morning whistle for the last time at Compass Camp 2013. The campers are currently enjoying their final breakfast and saying their goodbyes to each other, while the leaders walk around half asleep, and try to prepare themselves for some serious clearing up action!

The last night of camp ended as the week began, with lots of fun, energy, and competition. After playing lots of games(where we discovered Tom Johnson’s teddy was named carebear and Brian Eccles was stung by a bee on the bottom), we enjoyed ice cream and milkshakes. We then watched team prince Caspian take the title of best tent, and James Cash, Alex Furness, Rachel Paul and Millie Smith win the significant Stephanie Wright award for their enthusiasm in many aspects of camp and benefiting so much from the week.

Before we headed off to bed, we were reminded of the different parables that we learnt this week, that we live as sinners but that Christ came to rescue us. We also heard the warning, that as we head back home, we must be careful to not love this world more than Jesus, like Susan in the narnia books loved the world more than Aslan.

I think we all agree that the week has been truly fantastic.

Great food from the cooks, great games from the leaders, great laughs from the campers, and great teaching from the Lord Jesus! Thank you to him,

See you next year!
